MONDAY MAKEOVER - ONE MANTLE MANY WAYS

The very first time I saw my house...more than the size, and the ceilings and
the property and the view...what made me the most excited...
were the 5 fireplaces
One in every room but the kitchen...and of course the bathrooms...

No, none of them work...but ALL of them have identical mantles...
with endless possibilities for styling...

...only one, the dining room fireplace is not completely bricked up, and has a removable metal cover...
which I painted yellow last year...

...the Happy yellow has been such a breath of fresh air...we LOVE it!!!
....OVER THE WEEKEND, whilst making a visit to Home Depot to make adjustments to my Kitchen countertop order...
seems....they needed clarification...see, on my L Piece, did I want a "miter joint" or a "butt splice"?
Well, first of all,  I chose "butt splice" ??? and I love that term!
I had a good laugh with Melissa at Home depot who had used the term so often she forgot it was funny...!
... as I was checking out, I spied with my little eye, the most adorable little electric wood burning stove AND
for $69, and the subsequent removal of one metal plate and
in about 3 shakes of a lambs tail...
VOILA!!!

FIREPLACE!!!

ISN'T IT COZY???!!!

Now, if it would just get cold!!!
What has surprised you lately?

XO

  4. Saw this on pinterest and have a quick question. I have looked at that electric stove and wondered if it really looks like burning flames. How real does it look???? I want one for my house but don't want to have to get one and try it and then return it.... Thanks so much!!!

    1. I LOVE IT. Of course, they are fake logs and do not look exactly like a live burning fire....but for $69, I think it looks amazing!
