My Old Country House
was built in 1880, after the house originally built upon the property in 1830, burnt to the ground.
I think it is pretty amazing that in all those years, we are only the second owners!
The original owners came out on the wrong end of the Civil war, and Our house, named "FAIRVIEW" was billed as the "Little House".
Kind of makes me wonder what the "BIG HOUSE" must have looked like!
At 3700 square feet this is plenty of house for me, and on some days...much too much. I know, I know....a problem many would like to have...and I DON'T see inhabiting a BIG Old Country House a burden as much as a daily challenge to see beyond the warped floors, leaky falling ceilings to the beauty which lies beneath.
At the end of the day...I LOVE my Old House..it is where it ALL happens.
Here is a tour of our house...beginning in the Drive Way.
THE HOUSE
if you need boxwood, we got boxwoods...dozens of them!
