The Powder Room Makeover is complete!!
Come on in!
VOILA!
HANG UP YOUR TOWEL!
Our children's inability to properly hang up a towel in an ongoing source of frustration. We have tried everything , including TOWEL RATIONING..to no avail. Last week it occurred to me that the kids are great about hanging up their coats...and I HAD an epiphany. The loops on the backs of jackets have revolutionized coat hanging and so I stitched a piece of grosgrain ribbon loop
....at the top left and bottom right corner of each towel...
...and guess what! It worked!!! I have big plans now for their new bathroom towels!
SEAM BLINDING
There was a very visible seam on the left wall. I planned to cover it with a mirror or photo, when my husband suggested trying to match the paint color and perhaps touch it up a bit. Skeptical, I took a wallpaper scrap to my Benjamin Moore store and they matched the color in FLAT paint. I painted the seam...and then touched up other imperfections (remember - the wallpaper pieces were remnants of a discontinued print). You absolutely cannot see any seams OR Imperfections now!!! Thanks Hubs!
THE CUBBY
I removed the sliding doors, to paint the inside of the cabinet, with every intention to replace them afterward. I normally store my paint in there.
But, the open space made the room feel bigger and brighter and more importantly, gave useable storage to the room. The paint moved elsewhere....I went around the house grabbing up items to style it with and I also picked up the two baskets at Target. The vase and book are gifts from Anthropologie, the pewter Bunny cup was a gift when Phoebe was born, and the Beth Mueller "Emerge" vase was a gift from my Best Friend Trish.
PRETTY POTTY
Who ever had the brilliant idea to start making toilets more attractive is a GENIUS in my book. I mean, toilets are the centerpiece of most bathrooms, so why shouldn't they have some style?
I adore this TRESHAM toilet by Kohler. It has similar lines to the Vintage inspired Pedestal sink and is very water conserving to boot!.
LIGHTING
I did not change the light fixture. Just cleaned it up a bit. I love it. We got it when we first moved in. It is from Rejuvination lighting and it is called the "ADRIAN" fixture. We needed a fixture that could be turned off right on the light itself, not with a switch.

I look at this room and it makes me so happy. I proved to myself that I can do it! I tackled tasks I had never done like removing a toilet, a sink and the floors and I boosted my confidence by laying tile and hanging very complex wallpaper as well as the bead board wallpaper. I DID IT!!! and I LOVE IT!!!
Ohhhhhh Lesli!!!!! It's absolutely gorgeous!!!!! I love the bunny touches, especially the towel hook. That is genius!!!! In the 3rd pic down, the rabbit head looked like it was the top to a bottle! :-)
