.Ch..Ch..Ch..Changes on the Sunny Side Board of the street!

Well, the BAD News is that the
Greenwood Country Store...
The goldmine...from which I have furnished 75%
of my Old Country House...
has been sold and is closing.
The Good News is that it has been purchased by a woman who has been a vendor there and who has BIG plans for making  it a bigger and better version of what it has been...which is an awesome used furniture/consignors/decorators kind of place. The possibilities are endless and
I cannot wait to see what she does!

The store is down the street from my house, and so I pass by almost daily.
Last Friday night, I popped in to see Suzanne, the current mistress of the store
and the "pop in" turned into an hour and  two glasses of wine.
I love my little town! One thing led to another
AND...I bought a piece of furniture.
See, Suzanne was painting a piece of furniture, a cool old sideboard, and I could
not pass it up...I have needed a sideboard...because Post Christmas, I had taken our Dining room sideboard into the living room
for the NEW TV and so we have been
sideboard-LESS.
here is the BEFORE...

I liked the carving on the top drawer...and decided to leave it unfinished with just a few coats of varnish.
Inspired by this photo...
Look familiar!!!Mine is a touch more "rustic",
but the ingredients are there...

I painted it Benjamin Moore "Shore House Green" and sprayed the hardware with a silvery gold metallic spray.
Then I sanded and distressed it...and loaded her up with all my Dining room linens and my fabrics...and I am good to go!!
this is PRE-distressing....

NEW from "DraggyART" by Lesli DeVito Paintings
and will soon be available on ETSY!!!

This one drawer was too pretty to paint.
The bottom drawer is having a tough time,
but I made it look as good as I could...

I did some rearranging and brought in the Stray Dog designs Lamp...
and it looks right at home!!!
Post Distressing and restyled...

Amazing what a little paint can do...

Do you have a favorite paint color for furniture?
Do you have a piece you are itching to change?
