on my wall

I have been trying to put together a wall, a gathering of art and stuff, which will surround my new "Island Girl" painting.
I was inspired by this home, which was in Southern Living Magazine and is coincidentally located near me! this beautiful Owned by the owner of one of My favorite stores in the world, "
...and George". My daughter calls it my "happy store". because it makes me so very happy to go there.

I love walls like these...

the varied shapes and sizes are so appealing...and placed perfectly!

and this one...

simple, tighter, but again, varied and interesting...

and this one...

Mary Mc donald more uniform, formal kind of...
especially this one...

this one blows my mind! I want to GO there!

and this room feels so lived in, so very alive...

SO, here is where I have gotten so far, ignore the TV,

NOT a work of art for sure...although this room below is so awesome that the TV is almost un noticeable!

okay, the TV is gross, hate the wires etc, but squint and pretend they are not there...

take a picture! why don't   cha!
A tool that I use with many things; painting, styling and designing a room, even getting dressed up fancy or trying new shoes or a new hair style...what I do is take a photograph it and then examine it. Try it!!! This is such a helpful tool, especially when you do not have another set of eyes to help you. I often see the "big picture" better when I am looking at a finite image like a photograph.

Right off the bat here, I see that IF I am going to utilize this wall, with the TV, then I need to bring down a few pieces on either side of the TV. It is not as if having the items above the TV will ever make me forget the TV is there! or draw my eye up!  and it looks unbalanced to me and my sight line is too high. Maybe some symmetrical botanicals..or something...or...ha!... maybe the little  two paintings I just whipped up! LOL

okay, I'm just saying...not perfect, but not half bad, it DOES feel more balanced.

"Race"

"Leap of Faith"
what do you think? am I now an abstract painter?

and just a couple more...are we even getting close?
